Softball Recap: East Central Has No Trouble Against Clemens

East Central barely beat Clemens the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The East Central Hornets were the clear victor by a 9-3 margin over the Clemens Buffaloes on Tuesday. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Jenise Ramirez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last five contests.

At the plate, East Central let Morgan Glorisoso and Rehana Cuellar run wild. Glorisoso went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Cuellar scored a run while going 4-for-4. That's the most runs Glorisoso has posted over her last nine matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Estrada, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: East Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clemens only managed six hits.

East Central's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Clemens, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, East Central and Clemens will both be playing Judson the next time they take the field. Clemens will head out to face Judson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while East Central will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th.
