The Lund Mustangs's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-43 win over McDermitt. Lund pushed the score to 53-31 by the end of the third, a deficit McDermitt cut but never quite recovered from.
It was another big night for Kasen Hardy, who scored 28 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Parker Rosenlund was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jeremiah Horn, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Eli Northrup, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Lund pushed their record up to 11-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for McDermitt, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lund will face off against Owyhee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Owyhee is ranked 49th, while Lund is ranked 64th). As for McDermitt, McDermitt and Jackpot will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
