Hi-Plains recap Oct. 23, 2012
Meade extended the longest winning streak in Hi-Plains this week by beating Elkhart, 77-0. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Buffaloes.
Meade took down the Wildcats 77-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Chris Hardaway threw for 155 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 115 yards in the win.
Trevin Wiens was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 10 carries, he ran for 183 yards as the Buffaloes lost to Holcomb.
Shalberg was the best wideout in the league this week as the Broncs fell to the Longhorns. Shalberg racked up eight receptions for 83 yards. Ty Adams helped Lakin's passing attack out by catching two balls for 37 yards.
Elkhart's Alex Gomez and Jordan Forbit have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Hi-Plains in both passing and receiving yards. Gomez has thrown for 1480 yards this season, while Forbit, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 31 catches for 575 yards. Cimarron's Ty Clark leads the league in rushing yards with 1116.
Meade's Wiens needs only 65 yards against Sublette next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 83 carries Wiens has accumulated 935 yard this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Larks take on the Buffaloes. As it stands, Sublette is in sixth, while Meade is in second.
The Buffaloes led the league in scoring this week after putting up 77 points on Khris Buckner's team. Hardaway in the win.
