Football Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Parish Episcopal

Parish Episcopal extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 4-1. Everything went their way against the Legacy Christian Academy Eagles as they made off with a 43-21 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panthers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Eagles are ranked 388th).

Parish Episcopal had a senior duo take command as Marcus Hanish rushed for 192 yards while picking up 11.3 yards per carry and Jaylen Pile picked up 130 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 192 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Hanish.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Parish Episcopal proved: they limited Legacy Christian Academy to a paltry 2.9 yards per carry. While two picked up at least ten total tackles, Trip Brown stood above the rest. He picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (3.0 for loss). Parish Episcopal didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.4.

Parish Episcopal's defense didn't let Luke Lawrence, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Nile Cail and Brooks Lloyd, who racked up four sacks between them. Parish Episcopal got some further help from Brown: he picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Having lost for the first time this season, Legacy Christian Academy fell to 3-1. The defeat continues a trend for them in their meetings with Parish Episcopal: they've now lost three in a row.

Although Legacy Christian Academy took the loss, they still got scores from Jacob Koon, Dave Nasambu, and Sam Jones.
