Baseball Recap: Delaware Christian Starts Season with Win at Home

Delaware Christian gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Genoa Christian Academy a 3-0 shutout. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 16-10 win Genoa Christian Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

The result came thanks to Caden Beck's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 16 Ks.

On the hitting side, Cameron Green was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Andrew Yoby, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Coincidentally, Delaware Christian and Genoa Christian Academy will both be playing Northside Christian the next time they take the field. The Eagles will host the Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Genoa Christian Academy will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
