The ISchool of Lewisville Cougar's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 61-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of R.W. Goines Stem Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Saturday (55), iSchool of Lewisville still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, iSchool of Lewisville still got an impressive performance from David Iweze, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. The game was Iweze's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Frankie Chiakpo, who scored ten points.
ISchool of Lewisville has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for R.W. Goines Stem Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. ISchool of Lewisville will finish 2023 at home by hosting Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for R.W. Goines Stem Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wilmer-Hutchins at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Wilmer-Hutchins will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 835th, while R.W. Goines Stem Academy is ranked 154th).
