Softball Recap: Robinson Wins Going Away Against Ingleside

It's playoff time, and Robinson had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Ingleside Mustangs with a sharp 14-3 victory on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won 22 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Raelynn Van Zee made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed nine innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Van Zee was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-6 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Robinson let Reese Tate and Lexi Rosillo run wild. Tate went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Rosillo got on base in four of her six plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Tate has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenleigh Robinson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.

Robinson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ingleside only posted a batting average of .188.

The win made it two in a row for Robinson and bumps their season record up to 37-3. As for Ingleside, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 30-12.

Coming up, Robinson will challenge Aubrey at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The Chaparrals will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Rockets surely won't give up without a fight. Ingleside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
