On Tuesday, the Lehi Pioneers faced the Westlake Thunder in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lehi walked away with a 48-37 win over Westlake. The victory was nothing new for Lehi as they're now sitting on three straight.
Addy Scrivner was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. She has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last three times she's played. Ellie Hill was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Despite the loss, Westlake saw an underclassman step up: Avery Thompson scored four points. Another player making a difference was Sammi Riley, who scored six points.
Lehi is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Westlake, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lehi will take on Skyridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lehi focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. As for Westlake, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Pleasant Grove at 6:00 p.m. Westlake is facing Pleasant Grove at the right time seeing as Pleasant Grove is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
