This season hasn't been kind to the Palmyra Panthers, who are still winless after their fourth game. They were dealt a 72-38 loss at the hands of Mead on Friday. Palmyra was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-19.
Despite the loss, Palmyra saw an underclassman step up: Gou Kamishita scored 12 points. Drew Erhart was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 6 rebounds.
Palmyra's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-4. As for Mead, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Palmyra will head out on the road to face off against Johnson County Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mead, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Bancroft-Rosalie at 5:00 p.m.
