Faith Christian Academy were the 52-37 winner over the Gilead Christian Eagles when they last played one another back in January of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Faith Christian Academy fell 51-38 to Gilead Christian on Friday.
It was another big night for Talan Blankenship, who scored 20 points for Gilead Christian. That makes it two consecutive games in which Blankenship has scored at least 25% of Gilead Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Denim Myers, who scored 9 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals.
Faith Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Gilead Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Faith Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kingsway Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 22, 2024. As for Gilead Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Senedot Stripes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
