The Liberty Lancers lost against the Pine Creek Eagles back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Liberty had to suffer through a rough 62-30 loss at the hands of Pine Creek. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Liberty has scored all season.
Liberty's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jacie Bunck, who scored 11 points along with three steals and two blocks, and Ava Dawes who scored four points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Brooklyn Stewart was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 18 rebounds for Pine Creek. Stewart is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Leekaya Burke-perryman, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Liberty has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. As for Pine Creek, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-3.
Liberty is on the road again on Tuesday and plays Fountain-Fort Carson at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Fountain-Fort Carson is ranked 101st, while Liberty is ranked 93rd). As for Pine Creek, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Vista Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. Vista Ridge is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.4 points per game this season.
