Basketball Recap: Legacy Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Legacy Christian Academy easily dispatched Lynwood on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Legacy Christian Academy Lions fell just short of the St. Monica Mariners by a score of 49-46 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Lions have suffered since January 31st.

Despite the loss, Legacy Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman JR Mosley posted 19 points. Mosley's morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Josh Lowery was another key player, putting up ten points.

Legacy Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for St. Monica, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.

Legacy Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 50-47 victory against Loyola on the 9th. As for St. Monica, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against St. Bernard at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in St. Bernard's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
