Eastland had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They walked away with a 10-6 win over the River Ridge/Scales Mound Wildcats. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Wildcats back in April, they had to take a 6-1 defeat.

Eastland's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-11. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for River Ridge/Scales Mound, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-15 record.

Looking ahead, Eastland will head out to square off against Galena at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. River Ridge/Scales Mound does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
