The Prairie View Thunderhawks will head out on the road to face off against the Riverdale Ridge Ravens at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Prairie View will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
Prairie View proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over Fort Collins.

Favi Gaeta and Jerry Stone made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Gaeta struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Stone pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the most strikeouts Gaeta has posted since back in May of 2024. At the plate, Gaeta went 2-for-3 with one triple, while Stone earned one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jayden Silva, who earned two runs and three stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Miller, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Prairie View hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Riverdale Ridge). They blew past Northglenn 19-1 on Tuesday. The Ravens might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.
Riverdale Ridge got a massive performance out of Landon Brophy, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Jayce Sanchez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Prairie View pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Riverdale Ridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Prairie View has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Riverdale Ridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Prairie View was able to grind out a solid victory over Riverdale Ridge when the teams last played on April 1st, winning 6-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunderhawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
