Softball Recap: Central Wise Finds Home Field Redemption Against Lee

There's no place like home for Central Wise, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Lee Generals on Friday. With that win, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Kaelyn Dales made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Dales was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Dales wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Abigail Sturgill, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Peyton Lane also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

The victory got Central Wise back to even at 3-3. As for Lee, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Wise will take on Richlands at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lee, they will face off against Gate City at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
