Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot and the Raiders are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Virginia (Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot is ranked 366th, while the Raiders are ranked 358th).
Last Tuesday, Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot was able to grind out a solid win over the Warriors, taking the game 48-37.
Meanwhile, Southampton Academy was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past the Warriors 61-32 at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Southampton Academy.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southampton Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than G Applewhite, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 23 rebounds. Applewhite has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 18 times he's played. Another player making a difference was H Hurst, who scored 12 points along with six steals.
Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot's record is now 6-8. Southampton Academy's record now sits at 8-11.
Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot came up short against the Raiders in their previous meeting back in January, falling 58-47. Can Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
