Even though The Frederick Golden Eagles have not done well against the Mead Mavericks recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Frederick managed a 23-17 victory over Mead. The win made it back-to-back wins for Frederick.
Frederick's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Burke Eismann, who picked up 61 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatum Sanders, who rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Frederick has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Mead, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Frederick will take on George Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mead, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Riverdale Ridge at 7:00 p.m. Riverdale Ridge will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
