Okemah will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Hugo at 7:30 PM. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps state rankings project a close game.
After having lost a blowout to Stroud in their previous matchup, Okemah were happy to find some success last week. Everything went Okemah's way against Hulbert as they made off with a 44-14 win. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (38) and coasted on those for the victory.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 7-60, which was the final score in Hugo's tilt against Idabel. Hugo were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 7-48.
Okemah's victory lifted them to 1-1 while Hugo's defeat dropped them down to 0-2. We'll see if Okemah's success rolls on or if Hugo are able to steal their positive momentum.
