The Jay Royals scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Everything went their way against Freeport as Jay made off with a 68-48 victory. Jay has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season.
Jay's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aubreigh Nelson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Gilbreath, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Jay's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Freeport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-9.
Jay will head out on the road to take on Baker at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Baker will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 377th, while Jay is ranked 80th). As for Freeport, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against South Walton at 6:30 p.m.
