Basketball Recap: Joshua Doe Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Aransas Pass

It was a proper cat-fight when Pflugerville Connally took on Aransas Pass on Friday. The Pflugerville Connally Cougars ended the year with a bang, routing the Aransas Pass Panthers 64-38. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Panthers are ranked 573rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pflugerville Connally got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Joshua Doe out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten assists. Doe has become a key player for Pflugerville Connally: the team is 13-6 when he posts at least ten assists, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Sanders, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Doe wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Pflugerville Connally was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February.

Pflugerville Connally is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Aransas Pass, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.

Pflugerville Connally wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-35 win against Victoria West on the 28th. As for Aransas Pass, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-50 loss against Edinburg on the 27th.
