The West Port Wolf Pack are taking a road trip to take on the Belleview Rattlers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. West Port is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
West Port picked up another tournament win on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over North Marion. Considering the Wolf Pack have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Alena Ishman made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cayden Thorner, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted over her last ten contests. Another player making a difference was Rachael McCumber, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, Belleview entered their tilt with Mount Dora on Tuesday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Hurricanes.
Ya'Mari Reynolds spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Belleview saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Callie Pfriender, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.
Belleview pushed their record up to 15-8 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for West Port, their record is now 9-12.
West Port's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's game. The Wolf Pack have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Belleview, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will West Port continue to outrun the ball?
West Port suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Belleview in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Wolf Pack avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
