After both having extra time off, the Aubrey Rogers Patriots and the Southwest Florida Christian King will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field one another at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Aubrey Rogers barely beat Naples the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Aubrey Rogers blew past Naples 13-3 last Thursday. Considering the Patriots have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Delaney McCroskery made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. McCroskery was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple.

In other batting news, Jayline Martinez was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Sofia Ardezzone was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Aubrey Rogers always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Naples only posted an OBP of .286.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southwest Florida Christian). They were the clear victor by a 14-4 margin over Seacrest Country Day last Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the King's as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Southwest Florida Christian's win was truly a team effort as nine different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Recker, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those runs marked the first that Recker scored this season. Another was Adrianna Thorne, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Aubrey Rogers now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Southwest Florida Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.
Southwest Florida Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Aubrey Rogers has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .529.
