The biggest upset of the week belonged to MacArthur, who took down 57th ranked Bell, 46-7.
Trinity extended the longest winning streak in 5A Region I District 6 this week by beating Grapevine, 49-15. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Trojans.
Heritage's dynamic duo of Cody Thomas and Kaelin Deboskie proved tough for Nimitz to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Thomas threw for 366 yards and four touchdowns and Deboskie had 100 yards receiving. Brett Bofinger helped Heritage's passing attack out by catching three balls for 93 yards.
Jacobi Perry was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 20 carries, he ran for 220 yards as Irving topped the Vikings. Morris Shell III also contributed to the rushing game with 24 yards on the ground.
6-foot-5 quarterback Thomas of Heritage is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2767. He has also thrown 29 touchdowns. On the ground, Turner's Jahaziel Patterson has rushed for 872 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Aaron Dixon. The Bell star has 52 catches for 857 yards.
A big matchup in 5A Region I District 6 this week will be when Trinity takes on the Tigers. As it stands, Steve Lineweaver's team is in second, while Irving is in fifth.
The Cardinals moved up to 140 from 225 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. MacArthur climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Raiders 46-7.
