Softball Recap: Laton Extends Winning Streak to Six

Laton barely beat Legacy Christian Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs blew past the Lions 26-16 on Tuesday. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Laton got a massive performance out of Madison Heffley, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with four runs, five RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI Heffley has posted since back in February. Emily Rojas also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Laton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They are 7-3 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win (which was Laton's sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 24.8 runs over those games. As for Legacy Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Laton will have a chance to go back-to-back against Legacy Christian Academy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
