There's no place like home for South Plainfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the South Brunswick Vikings 2-1 on Tuesday. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 2-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was South Plainfield who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 16-25, 25-18.

Cindy Loloan paced South Plainfield's offense, picking up five kills. Loloan got some help from Raika Stiglic and her 14 assists. Loloan also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Cassandra Penny, racking up three apiece.

South Plainfield now has a winning record of 4-3. As for South Brunswick, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.
