Bethany Devore was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Chassity Houck was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Brooklyn Harman also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Meanwhile, while West Branch put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Williamsburg. The Warriors blew past the Biue Pirates 10-0. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Biue Pirates recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Megan Eyerly tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lindsey Bainey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Shasta Manahan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
West Branch's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Juniata Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
Everything went Juniata Valley's way against West Branch in their previous meeting back in April, as Juniata Valley made off with a 15-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
