Gila Bend had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Telesis Prep 60-21 on the road.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Skyview beat Tohono O'Odham 53-47 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Skyview.
Trevion Rude was a one-man wrecking crew for Skyview as he dropped a double-double on 35 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Rude has scored at least 25% of Skyview's points.
Gila Bend's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Skyview, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Gila Bend came up short against Skyview in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 54-45. Can Gila Bend avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
