West Potomac is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Woodson to the tune of 44-0 on Saturday. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Wolverines just coasted through the last quarter.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Potomac to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ben Knapp, who threw for 200 yards and three touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Darius Childs, who picked up 134 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, South County came up short against Lake Braddock on Saturday and fell 22-14. Despite 58 more yards than the Bruins, the Stallions couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Nicholas Simay, who rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 186 yards while completing 72% of his passes. A healthy portion of that aerial production (88 yards to be exact) went to Trevion Campbell.
West Potomac's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5. As for South County, they now also have a losing record at 4-5.
