Piedmont put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Union Academy Cardinals with a sharp 65-41 win. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Piedmont's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charleigh Battle, who posted 14 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Those eight rebounds gave Battle a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Lundquist, who put up eight points and seven steals.
Piedmont's record now sits at 5-0. As for Union Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Coming up, Piedmont will head out to take on Providence at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Union Academy, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Hickory Grove Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
