It was a good run, but The Matoaca Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 49-28 walloping at the hands of Dinwiddie. Matoaca has struggled against Dinwiddie recently, as their matchup on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Matoaca lost, one person who can't be blamed is Montino Williams jr. Despite the final result, he rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown.
Matoaca's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Dinwiddie, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-3.
Matoaca will be playing in front of their home fans against L.C. Bird at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. L.C. Bird will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Matoaca is ranked 29th). Dinwiddie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
