The Albemarle Patriots lost against the Godwin Eagles back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Albemarle took a 34-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Godwin.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Godwin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lakelyn Bostian, who scored 14 points along with six steals. The matchup was Bostian's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Carlee Delano, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Albemarle has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Godwin, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Albemarle will head out on the road to face off against Fluvanna County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fluvanna County is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. Godwin won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Western Albemarle at 2:30 p.m. on December 28, 2023. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Western Albemarle is ranked 113th, while Godwin is ranked 133rd).
