The Campbell County Camels will head out to face off against the Thunder Basin Bolts at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Campbell County comes in on 24 and Thunder Basin on three.
On Friday, Campbell County made easy work of Jackson Hole and carried off a 14-3 win. The Camels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by eight runs or more this season.
Courtney Thayer was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Sadie Cole, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Campbell County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .593 or higher in five consecutive matchups.
Thunder Basin came out on top against Kelly Walsh two weeks ago thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Bolts walked away with an 11-8 victory over the Trojans.
The team relied heavily on Shelby Kennedy, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and one RBI. Those triples were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyana Rusch, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Campbell County's record now sits at 12-0. As for Thunder Basin, their record is now 7-2.
Thunder Basin's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Campbell County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Thunder Basin, though, as they've been averaging only 4.1 strikeouts. Will Campbell County keep running through batters, or will the Bolts buck the trend?
Campbell County got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Thunder Basin by a conclusive 19-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Camels since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
