The Powell County Pirates will head out to face off against the Wolfe County Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Powell County barely beat Mason County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Royals on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Powell County got a massive performance out of Jackson Tipton, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave Tipton a new career-high. Dylan Trent was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Powell County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Wolfe County made sure to put some runs up on the board against Lee County on Wednesday. The Wolves never let the Bobcats get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Jaxson Hollon and Chance Fallen were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Hollon tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Fallen pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Hollon went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Fallen went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Jaden Hollon was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Brayden Tolson also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Powell County's record is now 19-14. As for Wolfe County, their record now sits at 18-9.
Powell County couldn't quite finish off Wolfe County in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 and fell 2-0. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
