The Natrona County Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight defeat. They fell 60-53 to Central. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Natrona County of the 65-60 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Karson Tempel, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Tempel has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Izzy Kelly was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Natrona County dropped their record down to 2-11 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Natrona County is on the road again on Saturday and plays East at 12:30 p.m. on February 3rd. East will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Natrona County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Central, they will be playing at home against Sheridan at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Central is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.7 points per game this season.
