The East Stroudsburg South Cavaliers lost against the Pocono Mountain West Panthers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The matchup between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with East Stroudsburg South falling 55-40. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Pocono Mountain West is ranked 32nd).
Despite the loss, East Stroudsburg South still got an impressive performance from Jaen Chatman, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. Chatman is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mareek Williams, who scored four points.
East Stroudsburg South's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Pocono Mountain West, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
East Stroudsburg South will look to defend their home court on Friday against Stroudsburg at 7:00 p.m. As for Pocono Mountain West, they will head out on the road to take on East Stroudsburg North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
