Firth is 9-1 against Salmon since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Cougars will welcome the Savages at 4:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Firth's favor as the squad sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Salmon has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
On Monday, Firth made easy work of Challis and carried off a 21-4 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by eight runs or more this season.

Cooper Park made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Brycen Andersen was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles. He is becoming a predictor of Firth's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Grant Vasquez was another key player, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Salmon fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Idaho Falls on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 11-10. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Savages, who until this matchup were averaging 2.79 runs allowed.
Cody Cox was cooking despite his team's loss, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Broc Matthews, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Firth's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Salmon, their loss dropped their record down to 15-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Firth has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Salmon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Firth might still be hurting after the 16-5 defeat they got from Salmon in their previous matchup on Friday. Will the Cougars have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
