Mojave was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Faith Christian. The Mustangs came in at 19 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.
Mojave extended the longest winning streak in 8-Man Freelance (8 Man) this week by beating the Warriors, 57-26. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Calvary Chapel's Nathan Jewell and Zechariah Laidlaw have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Jewell has thrown for 1536 yards this season, while Laidlaw, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 30 catches for 583 yards. Robert Reed from Orcutt Academy leads the league in rushing with 526 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Pacific Lutheran takes on Lighthouse Christian. The Stingrays are currently in fifth, while the Saints are in eighth.
Lighthouse Christian was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 10th to eighth in 8-Man Freelance (8 Man).
