Neumann Regional Academy has been on the road for two straight, but on Saturday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Hughesville Spartans at 1:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Neumann Regional Academy's 21-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were outmatched by Lewisburg on the road and fell 66-33. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Neumann Regional Academy has scored all season.
Despite their loss, Neumann Regional Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Messiah Baldwin, who scored 12 points, was perhaps the best of all. The match was Baldwin's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyrick Moy, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Hughesville was beaten by Selinsgrove 64-31 last Monday. While losing is never fun, Hughesville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while Selinsgrove is ranked 96th).
Neumann Regional Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Hughesville, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-2.
Things could have been worse for Neumann Regional Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 68-53 loss to Hughesville in their previous matchup back in January.
