Make it 14 blowout wins for the Biloxi Indians this season. They were the clear victor by a 58-34 margin over D'Iberville. Given Biloxi's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while D'Iberville is ranked 74th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Biloxi was led to victory by Aaliyah Davison and Zaniya Johnson. Davison scored 17 points along with six assists and five rebounds, while Johnson dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Johnson hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Merideth, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Biloxi's victory was their 12th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-4. As for D'Iberville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Biloxi will take on St. Martin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Martin will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for D'Iberville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Harrison Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
