The Overton Wolverines came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Mitchell 64-8 at home. Given Overton's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Mitchell is ranked 277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

That makes it two consecutive games in which Clemmons has scored at least 25% of Overton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kierra Baldwin, who scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds and 7 steals.
Overton's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Mitchell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Overton will take on Craigmont at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mitchell won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Westwood at 6:00 p.m. on December 2nd.
