Seton Hall Prep and the Lions are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Seton Hall Prep Pirates will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Immaculate Conception Lions at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Seton Hall Prep beat the Jaguars 67-61. The victory was all the more spectacular given Seton Hall Prep's disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Jaguars are ranked 21st).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seton Hall Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gino Romano, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Guzzardo, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Immaculate Conception waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They strolled past East Orange Campus with points to spare, taking the game 70-53.
Seton Hall Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season. As for Immaculate Conception, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.
Seton Hall Prep didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Lions in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 51-45 victory.
