They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 62-19 victory over Ridge Community. Given George Jenkins' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while Ridge Community is ranked 513th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading George Jenkins to victory were Marykate Benham and Taylor Gibson. Benham scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Gibson scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Anessa Mayfield, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
George Jenkins has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Ridge Community, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. George Jenkins won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Jordan Christian Prep at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Jordan Christian Prep is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Ridge Community, they will be playing at home against East Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
