The Marionville Comets had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against Ash Grove by a score of 43-35. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Marionville also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Marionville found their leader in underclassman Dally Pomeroy, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lanie Stokes, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Marionville pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Ash Grove, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marionville will challenge Sarcoxie at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Ash Grove on the road again on Monday and play against Lockwood at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd.
