Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Christ School Greenies, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They had to suffer through a rough 56-17 loss at the hands of Rabun Gap-Nacoochee. Christ School's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Although Christ School took the loss, they still got scores from TJ Hamilton and Cayden Jones.
Gavin Owens was the offensive standout of the contest as he threw for 184 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Anthony Quinn jr, who rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Rabun Gap-Nacoochee's defense and their five sacks. Christ School's QB won't forget James Carrington anytime soon given Carrington sacked him twice.
Christ School's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0.
Christ School does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rabun Gap-Nacoochee will be playing in front of their home fans against Providence Day at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Providence Day's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
