Adding to the longest winning streak in Super Essex - American this week, Montclair beat Bayonne 38-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
East Orange Campus lost to Ridgewood 53-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Montclair's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Elijah Robinson threw for 158 and 3 touchdowns and Kenny Rosario had 93 yards receiving. On the ground Robinson chipped in 134 yards. Will Kline helped Montclair's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 63 yards.
Robinson was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 134 yards on 16 carries as John Fiore's team beat the Bees. Gerard Brown also contributed to the rushing game with 30 yards on the ground.
6-foot-5 quarterback Zach Keller of Seton Hall Prep is the league leader in passing yards this season with 756. He has also thrown 7 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Rosario. The Montclair star has 19 catches for 335 yards.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when the Mounties' Rosario goes up against the Pirates' Nick Alvarez.
Two of the top teams in the league will go toe-to-toe this week when Seton Hall Prep takes on Montclair. John Finnegan's team's offense has racked up 221 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Mounties have allowed only 18 on the year.
