The McNair Eagles lost against the Central Catholic Raiders back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. McNair suffered a rough 62-37 defeat at the hands of Central Catholic. McNair has not had much luck with Central Catholic recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wesley Payne, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. The game was Payne's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Wentworth, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.
McNair's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Central Catholic, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
McNair's road trip will continue as they head out to face Sonora at 6:30 p.m. on December 8th. Sonora is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. Central Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Burbank at 8:00 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Burbank focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Thursday.
