There's no place like home for the Rocky Mount Gryphons, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 58-46 win over Bunn on Friday. That 12 points margin sets a new team best for Rocky Mount this season.
Anthony Jones was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Emanauel Battle, who scored 11 points.
Despite the loss, Bunn still got an impressive performance from Jameir Strickland, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of D.J. Smith, who scored 11 points.
Rocky Mount's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Bunn, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rocky Mount will face off against Nash Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bunn, they will head out on the road to square off against Northern Nash at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northern Nash will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
