Mountain View (Bend, Ore.) defeated Summit (Bend, Ore.) 50-12 on Saturday.
The Cougars were up 36-0 at the half after taking the lead on a Webb touchdown pass to Carroll in the first quarter.
Mountain View expanded its lead to 50 points entering the fourth quarter. MV scored two times in the third, including once on a
Kyler Ayers touchdown run.
Cole Phipps made a difference for the Storm. The sophomore wide receiver caught one touchdown.
Ayers played well for the Cougars in the victory. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 14 touchdowns on the season.
Mountain View had struggled this season, allowing 31.5 points per game. But MV tightened up and held Summit right around its season average of 11.8 points per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Cougars came away with a 49-12 victory.
Summit (2-5) goes up against Crook County in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Mountain View (4-3) locks horns with Redmond in a 5A Intermountain game.
