After losing to the Westland Hialeah Wildcats the last time they met, the iMater Charter Knights decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. In a tight match that could have gone either way, iMater Charter made off with a 46-45 win over the Wildcats.
Despite the loss, Westland Hialeah saw an underclassman step up: Frank Sosa scored 26 points along with seven rebounds. That was a full 57.8% of Westland Hialeah's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahi Lopez, who scored 15 points.
IMater Charter has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Westland Hialeah, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6.
IMater Charter will face off against Jackson at TBD on Tuesday. Jackson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 253 points over their last four matchups. Westland Hialeah is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Trojans on February 6th. Hialeah-Miami Lakes is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
