The Bridgeport Central Hilltoppers came into Monday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Bassick by a score of 46-37 on Monday. The victory was just what Bridgeport Central needed coming off of a 57-33 loss in their prior match.
Bridgeport Central was led to victory by Mikayla Kendrick and Kai Clarke. Kendrick scored eight points along with 16 rebounds and three steals, while Clarke dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 steals. Kiara Clarke was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Bridgeport Central's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9. As for Bassick, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Bridgeport Central won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Blue Wave at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Darien is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home. Bassick will take on the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Warde presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Lions in Connecticut (the Mustangs are ranked 39th, while the Lions are ranked 125th).
